Stopping Tim Coleman Vernon Paris shines on ESPN Friday Night Fights

Ten round super featherweight contest that was the opening bout on ESPN Friday Night Fights from Chumash Resort and Casino ended at 2:35 of the fourth round due to a cut sustained by Cruz during an accidental clash of heads. Even though four rounds were not completed the fight went to the scorecards and announced as a split technical draw. Judges scored the fight 38-38, 9-37 for Cruz and 39-37 for Armenian fighter, making it a split draw. Art was visibly upset. No one in the arena was happy. However, a main event, ten rounds USBA light welterweight championship showdown between Vernon Paris(25-0,15KO’S) and Tim Coleman(19-2-1,5KO’S) made up for it ten fold.



Unbeaten Vernon Forrest fromDetroit,Michiganstopped Tim Coleman within seven rounds in a brutal war of attrition in front of wild crowd at the Chumash Resort and Casino. The violent battle for Coleman’s USBA title was televised as a main event on ESPN’S Friday Night Fights. No one left disappointed. It was a brutal back and fourth fistic combat until the end where the body shots ofPariswere simply too much for defending champion.  “Everybody doubts me all the time,” exclaimed victorious Vernon Paris:” They looked passed the skills that I have.
