Gilroy’s Robert Guerrero served notice in the lightweight division dominating Michael Katsidis from Australia over twelve breathtaking rounds in a fight that featured fireworks throughout. All there judges scored the fight for Guerrero 117-108,118-107,118-106, who won vacant interim WBO and WBA lightweight titles in impressive fashion in front of a raucous crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night. Despite the wide margin on the score cards Guerrero had to dig down deep to keep relentless Katsidis of off him for twelve rounds. “I gave myself a C,” said Guerrero:” There were a lot of things I wanted to do that I didn’t do.” But when I asked what was next for Robert Guerrero, the modest student of the sweet science turned into a confident one.” There are a lot of big fights out there,” continued newly crowned interim champ:” Marquez, I am the mandatory to fight him. Zab Judah just won a 140 pound world title. Mayweather is out there, Pacquiao. There are so many big fights out there.”
