Heavyweight Chris Arreola (28-2,25KO’s) weighed in at 256 pounds this afternoon prior to his scheduled twelve rounder tomorrow at the Citizen’s Business Bank Arena against Manuel Quezada (29-5,18KO’S), who weighed in at 228 pounds. The fight will be televised on ESPN’S Friday night Fights.
Prior to this bout Arreola said that he had a lot to prove to himself and all the nay Sayers that jumped his ship after two losses due to his lack of discipline. Arreola’s Cut man Willie said “Chris will never looked ripped, but he is in a good fighting shape.” Arreola admitted that he cut a few corners prior to his last fight with Adamek, yet his weight was 251pounds. Facing Quezada tomorrow, with this fight being called a last shot, Arreola weighed in at 256 or 5 pounds more than his last fight. Las Vegas book makers have Arreola as twelve to one favorite to defeat his Mexican counterpart and most likely Arreola’s stamina will not be tested tomorrow, but the weight speaks for itself.
An insider told me that there is a blue print to beat Arreola and that is to box and move. Would determined and in shape Quezada who has been asking for this fight for a long time be able to follow it? Stay tuned.
