Weighing in at a trim 166.5 pounds for his much anticipated super middleweight championship showdown with Mikkel “Viking Warrior” Kessler, 2004 Olympic gold medalist Andre “The Son Of God” Ward has a huge responsibility bestowed upon him; he has to win this championship fight not just for himself, but for his whole country.

This is a final bout of the first stage of the Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament in which European fighters have prevailed so far. Arthur Abraham scored a devastating knock out of Jermain Taylor in Germany and Carl Froch squeezed by Andre Dirrell in England. Can Ward put the United States on the map with his performance?

WBA supper middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler tipped the scale at 167 pounds. He is a favorite to win not only this bout the whole tournament.
